My Favorite Essential Oil Diffuser Blends for Spring! | Frani Pisano

Spring has officially arrived, bringing with it longer days, blossoming trees, glorious sunshine – and an excuse to find a new diffuser blend (or three). As the earth breathes new life, bring some new life to what you breathe! Before I divulge my favorite blends for this new season, let’s take a quick look at why you would want to diffuse essential oils, to begin with, and some things to keep in mind while doing so.

Why Diffuse?

The aromatic use of essential oils is generally regarded as very safe and well tolerated. According to doTERRA, “Diffusion is the most efficient method for applying essential oils aromatically and many types of diffusers exist. Some work directly on the whole oil by transforming it into a micro-fine mist, while others use water to distribute the essential oils as microscopic droplets.”

So, to unpack all that, diffusion is:

  • safe
  • well tolerated
  • effective
  • efficient

“If something is aromatic, it emits a distinct, potent, or pleasant smell. The aromatic use of essential oils consists of benefitting from the natural properties of the oils by way of breathing in the aroma. While topical and internal application requires the body to come in contact with the oil, aromatic application merely requires the essential oil to pass through the nose in order to offer the benefits.” -From doTERRA’s ebook: Aromatic Use of Essential Oils

Now that you know a little more about the diffusion method for essential oils, here are some of my favorite diffuser blends for spring.

Fruity Pebbles

This uplifting blend of lemongrass, grapefruit and bergamot is not only delightful to your olfactory sensibilities, it delivers an extra oomph in the invigoration department and will leave you feeling uplifted and cheerful.

If the spring cleaning marathon you’ve been on has you feeling a bit fatigued, this would be the perfect blend to give you a boost of energy, too!

Did I mention, it’s much better for you than its sugar-laden namesake, too?

Take a Hike

This refreshing blend of cypress, melaleuca, cedarwood, and bergamot will make you feel like you’re climbing a mountain – without the heavy boots and blisters!

If you’re looking for something that is both grounding and stimulating, this blend would be perfect.

Garden Zest

This herbaceous blend is simply delightful to get you in a focused, uplifted state of mind.

The addition of the peppermint oil really adds something special to this blend, and while these oils might not seem like they would mesh well together, they really do!

Go for this one if your home (or your mood) need a little brightening up.

None of these blends particularly appealing to you? That’s okay! You can make your own. Here are some tips from doTERRA for creating a good diffuser blend:

1 – Determine what effect you want to achieve (Relaxing? Invigorating? Calming?)

2 – Choose a group of oils that fit that description.

3 – Play around and find some oils in that group that work well together and start diffusing!

Do you have any favorite diffuser blends for spring? If so, I’d love to hear them! Tell me what you think of these blends in the comments. I can’t wait to hear from you!
