Cardamom is a spice that is used frequently in Indian and South Asian cooking. (In fact, in some of these areas, cardamom is called the queen of spices!) Cardamom is actually a close relative to ginger and like ginger, is known to be beneficial to the digestive system. But its uses extend far beyond tummy issues. Here are a few uses so that you can take full advantage of this oil (which is 10% off through the end of September!).

Diffuse to seasonal discomforts and increased body temperature. Fall is upon our doorstep and it’s undoubtedly bringing germs along with it. Have cardamom on hand in case some cooties hitch a ride into your home. It will help clear up congestion and reduce body temperature.

Freshens breath. Adding a drop or two of cardamom essential oil to your toothpaste can help maintain oral health and the minty flavor can eliminate bad breath. The antimicrobial properties actually fight off the bacteria in your mouth which cause cavities and tooth decay.

Improves blood circulation. The warming effect of cardamom assists with the circulation of blood and regulation of oxygen, facilitating an increase in adequate nutrient absorption.

Boosts your energy level. Cardamom can help you awaken your body and mind by increasing alertness. Pop it in your diffuser first thing in the morning and set the tone for a day of mental clarity and focus!

Helps with cramps and spasms. This oil has antispasmodic properties which can lessen the intensity of menstrual cramps, and spasms that cause coughs.

Cosmetic secret weapon! Cardamom is wonderful as a facial toner. You can add it to your favorite toner to really boost your results or plain cold water! It can also be used to lighten hair and maintain the brightness of color.
