Looking for new things to do while you’re at home? Look no further than here—we have some fun DIY crafts and hands-on activities involving essential oils! Your kids (and the kids at heart in your household) will enjoy the full sensory experience involved with the “recipes” below. These fun activities all come from dōTERRA.

Aromatherapy Play Dough

To make aromatherapy play dough, you’ll need:

2 cups flour
2 cups colored water (you can add food coloring to give it color)
1 cup salt
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
5 drops of essential oils

Mix all ingredients except the essential oils in al large saucepan, and stir. Once combined, heat over medium heat. Stir the ingredients with a spatula until they form a ball. Don’t overcook. Remove from heat and cool on parchment paper. Once your play dough is cool, add five drops of your favorite essential oil. Knead until combined. You can reuse your play dough many times. Just store it in the fridge in an air-tight container.

Foaming Hand Soap

The importance of hand soap has never been as crystal clear as it is today. Believe it or not, you can make your own pretty easily. Here are the ingredients:

2 tablespoons unscented liquid castile soap

1 tablespoon Fractionated Coconut Oil

10 drops favorite essential oil (two recommendations: Peppermint oil and Tea Tree oil)

Water

Pour castile soap and Fractionated Coconut Oil into bottle, and add the essential oils. Slowly add water into your hand soap bottle, making sure to leave room for the foaming pump. Put on the lid and shake it all together.

Slime

Slime….sounds gross, but kids love it! Here’s one recipe to try, found on the website Life Straight Up:

1 bottle (5 oz) of clear glue

1 tsp. Borax

1 cup of water

Glitter

Essential oil of your choice

Mix together ½ cup of the warm water and Borax. Then, in another bowl, mix together the glue and In a different bowl, mix the glue and the other ½ cup of warm water. Add in four drops of the essential oil of your choice and the glitter. Slowly pour a small amount (start with 1 tsp.) of the water/Borax into the glittery water/glue mixture. Mix well, and you should start to see the slime firm up. It may feel wet at first, but work it more with your fingers. Add more water/Borax if you need to until you reach the consistency you want.

Salt Dough Diffuser Ornament

Sure, it’s a little early for Christmas, but this sweet “present” can add a nice aroma to your life or make for an ideal gift any time of year! Here’s what you need and how to make it:

4 cups all-purpose flour

1 cup salt

1 ½ cups warm water

Your favorite dōTERRA essential oils

Preheat the oven to 325°F. Pour flour, salt, and warm water into large bowl. Using your hands, knead until all ingredients are well-incorporated and dough is smooth. If the mix is too dry, add one tablespoon of water at a time until dough comes together. Roll out dough on floured surface until ¼ inch thick. Using cookie cutters, cut out desired shapes and place them on cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. Using a drinking straw or toothpick, make a hole in top of ornament for threading string. Place the ornaments in the oven until hard, approximately one hour. Once hard, remove from oven and cool. Decorate your ornaments with paint, string, or glitter. Add essential oils by placing one drop on each ornament, and allow it to soak in.

Tip from dōTERRA: Add some decoration to your ornaments by stamping them. Just place stamp on ink, and carefully place on ornament to transfer design before they dry.
